My study of the eye has always intrigued me. They say that the eyes are the mirror of the soul, so ultimately drawing them can be both exhilarating and challenging. I posted this portrait before but I wanted to emphasize that her eyes were the focus, quite literally,of the piece. The eyes are more complicated with many many colors and reflections, encompassing different shades and light, but all at once coming together in some type of amazing conglomeration. No matter how many times I draw and paint an eye, it continues to amaze me and draw me in. Perhaps it does that for you as well, compelling many artist to draw and observe and simultaneously exult in a good rendering.
